Literary Highlight
In my last post, I briefly discussed the value of literary magazines. This week I have a piece of related news that puts last week’s preaching to practice. The Council of Literary Magazines and Presses has received the green light to host a several-city Lit Mag Fair; the CLMP’s first Fair was held in New York City in 2000 and was so popular the organization was recently awarded an NEA Challenge Access grant to fund the Fair’s geographic expansion across the States. In a grassroots attempt to alert the general public to the world of small press publishing, Council representatives will travel to several major cities, including Atlanta, GA; Buffalo, NY; and Columbus, OH; bringing with them a caravan of print journals and books, as well as information about a diverse variety of publishers. Proceeds from the event will be donated to publishers taking part in the Fair. You can find more details on the CLMP’s website. If you live in or will be traveling to one of the listed cities in the next few months, be sure to support a good cause and check out the Lit Mag Fair.
