Deborah Thompson

Deborah Thompson is an associate professor of English at Colorado State University, where she helped to develop the new Master’s Degree in Creative Nonfiction. She has published creative essays in venues such as Fourth Genre, Creative Nonfiction, Passages North and Briar Cliff. Her piece “Mishti Kukur,” which appeared in the Iowa Review, was awarded a Pushcart prize. Debby’s first essay about her cocker spaniel, “What’s the Matter with Houdini?” was the winner of the 2008 Jeffrey E. Smith Editor’s Prize and published in the Spring 2009 Missouri Review. She is currently working on a memoir and a novel.
