Mike Petrik lives thirteen miles off the coast of Rhode Island on Block Island, along with his wife, Bethany, and daughter, Willa. He spends his time there foraging and fishing, especially for the island’s more invasive species. He is a PhD candidate in fiction at the University of Missouri, and he received his MFA in fiction from the University of Memphis. His work has appeared in places such as Kudzu House Quarterly, 1966: A Journal of Creative Nonfiction, The Journal, Pinball, Fifth Wednesday Journal and the Sierra Nevada Review.
