An Interview with Paul Eggers
Lania Knight talks with Paul Eggers, winner of this year’s Peden Prize for his story, “This Way, Uncle, Into the Palace.” The Peden Prize is awarded to the most outstanding short story published in the preceding year by The Missouri Review.
Paul Eggers is the author of a novel, Saviors (Harcourt, ’99), and a short fiction collection, How the Water Feels (SMU Press, ’02). A former relief worker in a Vietnamese refugee camp, he has published short stories in Granta, Prairie Schooner, the Quarterly, Quarterly West and other journals. He is currently an associate professor of creative writing at Cal State, Chico. [2005]
Lania Knight teaches writing and literature at the University of Missouri and is an editorial assistant at the Missouri Review. She is currently at work on her first novel. [2009]
